1749, Early Edition. London : Henry Lintot. Very good copy in modern quarter gilt-blocked brown cloth over marbled boards. Panel edges and endbands show faint wear. Text block complete with the original pastedowns bound in; front and rear blanks show contemporary inscriptions and doodles (including some rather skilled figure sketches). Horizontal chain lines. A rear blank bears an unobtrusive stamp of the West Riding County Library. The first four leaves have small tears, repaired with tape and with text unaffected. Preliminary and final leaves foxed, with the interior showing only the expected faint foxing and offsetting of age. A well-preserved example overall. Item #480661
