Spine gilt-tooled with raised bands, somewhat rubbed along with joints and endbands. Spine label lacking. Front hinge broken, with spine cover detached from text block and pivoting on the rear joint. The text itself remains notably strong: tight, bright and clean. A well-preserved example overall. Signed and warmly inscribed by William L.R. Cates, dated 1923. Item #475493
