1824, First Edition. London : Taylor and Hessey. Very good copy in contemporary full gilt-tooled calf over boards, now slightly scuffed and dust-dulled. Corners slightly bumped, with minor wear to the panel edges. Spine gilt-tooled with raised bands and a black leather label, the former slightly rubbed along with joints and endbands. Headband lacking somewhat. Marble endpapers and edges; preliminary and final leaves gently browned at the margins, with the interior remaining tight, bright and clean. A well-preserved example overall. Provenance; gilt-blocked leather label of the Beeleigh Abbey library mounted to front pastedown. Item #475478
