Item #473592 Fisher's drawing room scrap-book. Letitia Elizabeth Landon, ed.

Fisher's drawing room scrap-book

1833, First Edition. London : H. Fisher, R. Fisher & P. Jackson. Poor copy in contemporary leather-backed and gilt-stamped brown cloth boards, dust-dulled with a dampstain to the rear board. Corners bumped, with panel edges worn; joints and endbands heavily rubbed. Text block detached from boards. Lacking frontispiece, with front free endpaper loose; binding remains otherwise internally sound. Leaves dampstained and foxed. Text, blanks and plates are all heavily marked by a contemporary hand in both ink and pencil; this includes several poems, more prosaic notes, doodles and scribbles. Leaves retain their tissue guards, many of which are similarly marked. A unique and serviceable copy. Item #473592
