1895, First Edition. London : Cassell. Very good copy in a contemporary prize binding of full, gilt-blocked aniline calf, now lightly scuffed and dust-toned. Corners, joints and endbands rubbed. Spine gilt-tooled, now somewhat worn, with a red leather label and raised bands. Endpapers and edges marbled. Preliminary and final leaves foxed, with the interior showing faint, scattered foxing to some margins. Copy remains clean on the whole, tight and strong. A well-preserved example overall.
