1848, Edition Unstated. London : [s.n.]. Good copy in contemporary half leather over marble boards, now somewhat scuffed and dust-dulled. Spine with raised bands and red leather label, the latter gilt-blocked along with the compartments. Corners, joints and endbands somewhat rubbed. Marble edges and endpapers. Minor nick to the lower edge of first text leaf. Text block remains tight, strong and with a clean impression; earlier and later plates show light marginal foxing, and most are faintly offset onto the facing text leaf. Physical description; 108 plates, [216] pages ; 28 cm. Notes; A custom binding lacking preliminary text and comprising the first 108 (of 114) plates from a work originally issued in two volumes. Plates alternate with descriptive letterpress. The text block begins with the first leaf, "Wilson. Niobe. No. 1." First published 1836 by J. & F. Tallis, then reissued in 1848 by Jones & Co.
