Good set of royal folio first editions in mixed contemporary bindings, primarily gilt-blocked half calf over cloth boards. Vol. 14 in half vellum over cloth with gilt-blocked leather spine labels; tears to joints and endbands. Vol. 16 in quarter calf over cloth with gilt-blocked leather spine labels. Covers overall show expected wear: light scuffs, spines substantially worn at joints and endbands, corners lightly bumped. Interiors very well preserved, free of significant foxing or dust. Vol. 3: binding cracked between pp. 256 and 257, spine supports holding. Vol. 11: pp. 541-544 loose. Vol. 14: creasing and dust-dulling to prelims. A well-preserved set overall.
