Shakspeare's dramatic works : with explanatory notes. To which is now added, a copious index to the remarkable passages and words [two volumes]
1791, New Edition. Dublin : printed for William Jones, No. 86, Dame-Street. Volumes in mixed condition, both in the original full leather boards, now somewhat scuffed and edgeworn. Vol. 1 is cracked entirely through between pp. 378 and 379, with the text complete and the binding otherwise entirely secure; vol. 2 binding remains sound, with a surprisingly tight text block. Both spines heavily rubbed, with joints cracked but internally very secure; labels mostly lacking. Marbled text edges. Contemporary reader autographs to head of title pages (1793, 1854). The leaves of both volumes remain remarkably tight, bright, and clean for their age. Except as noted, a very well-preserved set. Provenance: bookplate of Sir William Hutcheson Poë (1848-1934).
