1850, Early Edition. London : Henry G. Bohn. Good copies both in contemporary green buckram boards with paper spine labels, now substantially lacking. Boards show minor dust-dulling and edgewear. All joints show some tight tears. Both volumes' rear hinges cracked, with mull holding secure. Modern bookplate to front free endpapers; some scuffs and tears to volume 3 front endpapers as from deaccessioning. Preliminary and final leaves lightly foxed; the interiors remain bright and clean for the most part, with some isolated foxing, and folded matter remaining crisp. A well-preserved set overall.
