1905, Printer's Proof Copy. London : The Fine Art Society. Printer's second proof copy, externally poor with interior well-preserved; publisher's insert loosely enclosed. All text and plates remain as issued by the printer, with copious plates but containing only the 4 initial text pages from the published edition. The copy is bound in half leather over cloth boards, both gilt-blocked. Boards slightly scuffed; spine heavily worn, with minor loss to the head and tail, and with a split to the front joint. Corners peeling somewhat with some loss. Edges somewhat dust-toned, with interior bright and clean on the whole, apart from some marginal dust smudges. Top edge gilt. Remains a unique and very serviceable copy overall. Item #460164
