1942, First Edition. London : How & Parsons. Good copies only in contemporary half calf over marble boards, with raised spine bands gilt-tooled and in the compartments. Boards somewhat scuffed, and worn along the edges and joints, with some surface loss to the leather. Spines heavily worn, with a tear to the headband of volume 2. Endpapers and edges marbled. Very good internally, with text blocks remaining surprisingly tight, bright and clean. Despite evidence of heavy use, a well-preserved set overall. Item #458765
