Spines with gilt-blocked titles and raised bands; joints and bands heavily rubbed. Structural faults: Volume 1: rear joint split, backstrip pivoting on front joint. Volume 2: both joints broken, spine detached but present; front board detached. Marbled endpapers (front free volume 2 scuffed). Internally, the bindings remain secure and the text is clean with only gentle age-toning. A handsome and unique set, showing its age and use. Item #455804
