1879, First Edition. Merthyr Tydfil, Glamorgan : printed and published for the author by H. W. Southey. Poor copy in the original gilt-blocked semi-flexible cloth over stiff-card wrappers. Text block detached from front wrapper and spine cloth, pivoting loosely on the weakened rear hinge. Sewing remains sound, keeping the text block intact if shaken. Covers are dust-dulled, with damp damage to the spine. Pages bright and clean overall, with some faint damp-staining to the inner margins. A complete and serviceable reading copy. Item #454170
