1896, First Edition. London : W. Heinemann. Good, tight copies in the original gilt-blocked cloth, with booksellers' labels mounted to the front panels. Covers are somewhat dust-toned, with rubbed panel edges and sun-toned spines. Some foxing to prelims and edges; the text is otherwise notably bright and clean, and the frontispieces retain their tissue guards. Volume 2 has a tear along the hinge, with the binding remaining secure. A well-preserved set overall. Item #452805
