Gilt-crossed raised bands to spine, with spine compartments uniformly tooled in gilt. Poem titles tooled in gilt to front panel. Gilt-tooled decorative and floral borders to front and rear panels. Outer and inner gilt dentils. Spine bands and panel edges slightly dulled and rubbed as with age. Heavy foxing to prelims, with light scattered, marginal foxing elsewhere. Each plate has a tissue guard. Remains quite well-preserved overall. A unique illustrated edition of Milton.
