1822, First Edition. Edinburgh : Printed for Archibald Constable and Co. Edinburgh; and Hurst, Robinson, and Co., London. Very good copied bound in contemporary aniline calf-backed marbled boards. Gilt-blocked leather labels to spines, with compartments uniformly tooled in gilt. Spine bands and panel edges somewhat dulled and rubbed as with age. Some light spots of foxing to titles of vols. 1 & 2, otherwise pages are very clean and sound. Remains quite well-preserved overall. Provenance: From the library of William G.
